A type of double displacement reaction which occurs between an acidic and a basic substance where the acid nullifies effect of base and vice versa to produce neutral products like salt and water is called NEUTRALISATION REACTION. Eg:- HCl + NaOH ----> NaCl + H2O. It can occur between an acid and a base, an acid and a metallic oxide and between a non metallic oxide and a base.
