Why is glucose being synthesized as end product of photosynthesis is not transported or stored in plant body? Mention in what form is food transported and stored in plant body and why?

Glucose is highly soluble in water. Therefore, after photosynthesis, the obtained glucose would get dissolved in water and be lost through transpiration. Therefore, just after synthesis, Glucose is converted into starch which, being an insoluble form of carbohydrate, makes it an ideal storeable form in plants.

It's molecules is being large can easily transported, so it is first converted into sucrose than transported... Fact: sucrose is sweetest sugar!!! I think this would help you.
