Apart from the blood, the circulatory system in humans also consists of another extracellular fluid known as lymph. It plays the dual function of absorption of digested fats and also draining fluids within extracellular spaces back to blood. The lymph accompanied by lymphatic nodes together constitute what is called lymphatic system.
