Joint is the place where two or more bones meet/ join. Joints are of three types:- 1-IMMOVABLE/FIBRROUS JOINTS-- A joint where movement is not possible, ex- skull joint.... 2-SLIGHTLY MOVABLE/CARTILAGINOUS JOINTS-- Bones moves slightly, ex- invetebral column.... 3-FREELY MOVABLE/SYNOVIAL JOINT -- Bone can move to a great extent. It is covered by thin membrane and filled with synovial fluid.Some of the major Synovial Joints are :-- 1- Ball and Socket joint ;found in shoulder and hip 2- Hinge joint; found in elbow 3- Pivot joint ; found in neck 4- Gliding joints ; found in tarsals and carpals 5- Saddle joint ; found in thumb 6- Condyloid joint ; found in wrist
