Quit India Movement # On august 8, 1942 the All India Congress Committee adopted a resolution in favour of starting a mass movement. # Gandhiji named it ‘Quit India’ movement. # The congress demanded the immediate ending of the British rule in India. # The repressive policy and cruel atrocities were committed on the innocent people. # Mass arrests were made and thousands of Indians became the target of the British bullets.
