(1) 1074K. (2) boiling point is more than melting point of MgCl2. (3) ① Ionic compounds are solid and are somewhat hard because of the strong force of attraction between the positive and negative ions. ② Ionic compounds have high melting and boiling points. (4) Sodium is highly reactive metal and reacts vigorously with the oxygen, carbon dioxide and moisture present in the air such that it may even cause fire. To prevent the explosive reaction, sodium is kept in kerosene oil. (5) Mercury is liquid at room temperature.
