How did reservation for obc come …

Mandal Commission (led by B.P Mandal) was asked to determine the criteria to identify the Socially and Educationally Backward Classes (SEBC) and recommend the steps taken for their advancement. The Commission gave its report in 1980 and one of its recommendation was 27 percent of government job offers to be reserved for SEBC. In the Lok Sabha elections of 1989, Janata Dal promised to implement the Mandal Commission report if it won the elections and unsurprisingly it did. Several devolpments took place after that: • The President of India in his address to the Parliament announced the intention of implementation of the Mandal Commission • On 6th August 1990, the Union Cabinet took a formal decision to implement the recommendations. • The decisions of the Cabinet was sent to the Department of Personel and Training. The Senior Officers of the Department drafted an order.

I really think that the reservtion for OBC,SC and ST should be diminished so that WE the people of GENERAL CATEGORY feel relaxed. Everywhere we have to show 200% potential so that we could join a good Institute.....even for goverment services we have to suffer because OBC,SC and ST ko jaha sirf 80 marks chahiye waha GENERAL CATEGORY ko 90 marks laane hote hai (CTET) .
