No, tricki wasn't suffering from any ailment. The reason behind his lethargy was his greed for food, he could tackle food at any time,and never refused to eat. This made him over weight and so inactive

Tricki wasn't suffering from any ailment.He was a greedy dog.He never refused the food offered by Mrs.Pumphrey.He didn't have proper exercise also.Mrs.Pumphrey felt cruel to stop offering him.So he became a bloated sausage that made him inactive and lethargy.
