BLEACHING POWDER is a YELLOWISH-WHITE powder which is prepared by passing CHLORINE through dry slaked lime. It is a good OXIDISING agent and is effective as a DISINFECTANT. Its formula is CaOCl2 and its chemical name is CALCIUM OXY CHLORIDE.
