The french society was divided into three estates. ... 2nd estate Nobility who were kings and queens. 3rd estate Commoners who were either lawyers, merchants, big businessmen, court officials, shoe makers, landless labours, peasants. The upper two estate enjoyed the support of each other and dominated 3rd estate. The French society in the 18th century was divided into three estates.
