Just write C ( for carbon) and make four crosses around it showing its valence electrons and remember to draw the crosses at each side not only one. Then write two O ( for oxygen ) and draw six dots around each of them. Copy the same diagram below ( or on the side ) and circle the electron pairs which are shared ( two two pair with both oxyzen).
