A concave mirror has a radius of curvature of 0.4 m. Find the position and size of the image of an object 0.2 m high placed 0.8 m in front of the mirror.

Given, R=0.4m F=r/2=0.4/2=-0.2m U=-0.8m H=0.2m Now,by mirror formula 1/f=1/v+1/u=1/v=1/f-1/u 1/0.2-1/0.8=-2.6m M=-(v/u)=-(-2.6/-0.8)=-3.25m M=h'/h=h'=h*m=-3.25*0.2=0.65m Hence the distance of image from the mirror is -3.26m and the height of the image is 0.65m
