Mr. Bhavani Parshad bought certain number of note books from Rs.200. Five of these are stolen. He sold the rest of the books for Rs.4 more than he paid for each and made a profit of Rs.40. How many books did he buy?

No of books stolen = 5 Let the books sold by him = x Profit made by him by seeling x books = 40 Profit made on each note book = Rs 4 So, x×4 = 40 x= 40/4 x = 10 Therefore number of books bought by him = 10+5 =15
