Nineteenth century liberals also stressed the inviolability of private property. 5. Economically, liberalism stood for the freedom of markets; abolition of state imposed restrictions on the movement of goods and capital. 6. It directly contributed to the growth of economic unification and nationalism. 7. It made new resources and new inputs accessible.
