Here is the answer Zero of x-2 =2 By remainder theorem f(2)= 2*2^3+2^2+ 3*2 -5 f(2)= 16+10-5 f(2)=21 Similarly solving second polynomial using remainder theorem . f(2)=2^3+2^2-4*2+a f(2) = 12-8+a f(2)=4+a According to the question. Remainder are equal So 21=4+a 21-4=a 17 = a Therefore value of a is 17
