First write carbon as many times as the no of carbon molecules, like if you have Ethene (C2H4) then write 2 times carbon. If you have CnH2n+2 then C-C will have single bond, CnH2n then it will have C-Cdouble bond and if you have CnH2n-2 then it will have triple bond. Where n is for any number. In C2H4, C=2=n and H=4=2n so, it will have double bond. It will be like C::C. Then Both of carbon have 2 free electrons so attach 2-2 carbons with each carbon.
