Anshika(sumesh), you should know that HFC stands for hudrofluorocarbons not for hydro chloro fluorocarbon. The main reason for banning CFC is that it has chlorine which when it (CFC) comes in contact with uv rays gives Cl gas. Free chlorine atoms then react with ozone molecules, taking one oxygen atom to form chlorine monoxide and leaving an ordinary oxygen molecule. Cl monoxide again breaks into Cl and O. This process is repeated thousands of times......... In short if HFCs were have Cl then what is the benefit of replacing cfc with it.
