A ladder of length 6 makes an angle of 45° with the floor while learning against one wall of a room. If the foot of the ladder is kept fixed on the floor and it made to lean against the wall opposite wall of the room, it makes an angle of 60° with the floor. Find thee distance between these two walls of the room.

Let AB, CD be wall while A and C are the points where ladder touches the wall respectively. E is the foot of ladder. AE=CE=6( :- length of ladder and same ladder is used) ........ IN Triangle ABE and DEC, <AEB=60°and <DEC=45°............ BE/AE=cos60...... BE=1/2×6=3... ........ CE/DC=cos45...... CE=1/2½........ CE=3×2½..... BD=3+3×2½
