Area of shaded region = Area of square − Area of two semicircles
Area of square ABCD =14×14 = 196cm2
Area of two semicircles = Area of 1 complete circle =22/7 ×7×7 =154cm2
∴ Area of shaded region = 196−154 =42 cm2
