Photosynthate moves in the phloem in the form of sucrose.
The final product of photosynthesis is glucose. These sugars are essential for the plant growth and need to be transported to the lower parts of the plants through the phloem.
These sugar are transported through phloem in the form of dissolved sucrose rather than glucose because sucrose is less reactive than glucose.
