With advent of time, the cropping pattern in Punjab, Maharashtra, UP and Tamil Nadu has undergone many changes.
They are:
• Initially the crops were hand planted but now the method used is scatter method.
• Earlier the crops required in-depth labour which gradually changed to the crops requiring less labour.
• The most revolutionary change observed is the use of high yielding variety of seeds, which was absent earlier.
