In ch 10 of organic its written that bond length of C-X increases as we move downward in. Group then according to this the boiling point should decrease as the size of X increase... But at other point its written that boiling point has the order RI>RBr>RCl>RF... CAN anyone justify this

As the size and mass of halogen atom increases,there is an increase in the magnitude of van der waal's forces due to which the boiling point increases down the group.
