Richard Ebright Richard Ebright was a versatile personality. He was a scientific genius, a canoeist, a lepidopterist, a debater, and many more. He possessed a driving curiosity and a brilliant mind. He had a special love for butterflies and he began collecting them at a very tender age. He collected almost twenty-five species of butterflies by class II and then his mother got him the book titled 'The Travels of Monarch X' to encourage him. This book turned a turning point and led him to the discovery of cells. He had everything that a genius is required to have a first-rate mind, inquisitiveness, and a rampant desire to win which together contributed to make him a genius.

Richard Ebright was a brilliant student. At the age of 22 he with one of his college room mate explained the theory on how cells work in an article in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Science. When he was in the kindergarten he used to collect butterflies. He also collected rocks, fossils and became an eager astronomer. His mother had also helped him a lot by taking him to the trips and she also bought him a telescope, microscope, camera and other equipments and helped him in many other ways. His mother gifted him a book named The Travels of Monarch X which changed his life. He was a curious student and he went to many international and national science fairs and won it. His curiosity, first rated mind and a will to win for the right reasons has helped him to become a scientist.

Richard Ebright was a multi-faceted and versatile personality. He was not only man with scientific mind, but also had a panache for sports and other-co-curricular activities such as debates, declamations, etc.  

His mother encouraged him to take interest in collecting butterflies, rocks, fossils, coins; astronomy, photography, mountaineering, etc.  

Since his childhood, he earned top grades in school. At the age of seven he started participating in science fairs. Science attracted him the most; in eighth grade he did an experiment to find the cause of viral disease that killed a large number of monarch butterflies. This experiment won him a prize.  

Then he did many experiment such as finding out why Viceroys butterflies resembled monarch butterflies, discovery of an unknown insect hormone, growing cells from a monarch’s wings, discovering the chemical structure of the hormone, and the role of DNA.

In conclusion we can say, Richard Ebright displayed a well-rounded personality that culminated in his brilliance in science.
