ABCD is a parallelogram.

CD∥AB

∴  CD∥AE                 [ Extended part of parallel side ]

⇒  Area of parallelogram ABCD=AB×CE       [ Since, CE situated between same parallel lines ]

                                                          =12×6.2

                                                          =744cm2      ---- ( 1 )

⇒  Area of a parallelogram ABCD=AD×BF

                                                              =8×BF     ----- ( 2 )

Comparing ( 1 ) and ( 2 ) we get,

⇒  8×BF=744

⇒  BF=744/8

              =93cm

∴  The area of parallelogram ABCD is 744cm2 and the length of BF is 93cm.
