Beacuse it is basic in nature,and the substance which is basis in nature are able to neutralize the effect if acid(HCL) in the stomach.when stomach production HCL increases its caused hyperacidity which can be neutralize by antacid..ex-eno

  • It is slightly alkaline in nature. 
  • It is very fast in reaction with the acid present in the stomach
  • It reacts to form carbon dioxide with helps us to produce blurps which give a relieving feeling
