General Elections :- Such elections which are held after certain duration of period to elect a candidate from a place, then it is general election. By election :- Such elections which are held due to drastic situations like resign or death of a candidate. Then, the seat of that particular candidate is vacant. Then, the elections again happens to fill the place of that vacant and this elections are then termed se by elections.

General Elections: Elections that are held after every five years when the Parliament completes its full term.

By-election: If an elected member resigns or dies before completing his/her term, his/her office becomes vacant. Election held to fill that vacant seat is known as by-election
