Demerits of Mendeleev Periodic Table

He was unable to locate hydrogen in the periodic table.
Increase in atomic mass was not regular while moving from one element to another. Hence, the number of elements yet to be discovered was not predictable.
Later on, isotopes of elements were found which violated Mendeleev’s periodic law.

1.Position of Hydrogen:Mendeleev placed hydrogen in the column of alkali metals but it is a non-metal.So position of hydrogen was not justified. 2.Position of Isotopes:Mendeleev's table was based on atomic mass but there was no place for isotopes which have same atomic no.but different mass no. 3.Wrong Order of Masses:Some elements like Ca-Ni,V-Cr,Al-Si were found to be arranged in the wrong order of their masses.
