Computer hardware consists of the physical components that make a computer go. ... That's the heart of the computer. It's a chip that takes instructions from programs (software), makes calculations and spits out the results. System hardware is a general term for various physical components of a computer system. It includes all the parts inside the computer case such as the CPU, hard disk drive, graphic cards, sound cards, RAM, power supply unit, motherboard, etc. Hardware refers to the physical elements of a computer. This is also sometime called the machinery or the equipment of the computer. Examples of hardware in a computer are the keyboard, the monitor, the mouse and the central processing unit.
