The textile industry is very important in bringing in jobs and money to developing countries like Bangladesh, Cambodia, and Sri Lanka. Other countries such as China, India, and Pakistan, also export many types of textiles. The textile industry is very important in india because 1.it contributes to the industrial production(14 percent) 2. provides employment opportunities(35 million persons directly) 3.it contributes towards the foreign exchange(about 24.6 percent) 4.it contributes 4 percent towards the GDP.
