length=100cm
breadth=80cm
side of square=10cm
no. of square cut=4
area of rect. = l × b
= 100 ×80
=8000 cm sq.
area of square = 10 × 10
= 100 cm sq.
for 4 squares = 4×100
=400 cm sq.
area of remaining sheet = area of rect. - area of square
= (8000 - 400) cm sq.
= 7600 cm sq.
Hence, the area of remaining sheet is 7600 cm sq.
