2x−y=3 ------- (1) 4x+y=3 ------ (2) From equation 1 : y=2x−3 Substitute the value of y in equation 2 :  4x+y=3 4x+2x−3=3 6x=3+3 X=66=1 Now, Substitute x=1 in equation 1 :  2x−y=3 2(1)−y=3 2−3=y Y=−1 Therefore the solution is: x=1 and y=−1
