Two tankers contain 850 litres and 680 litres of petrol respectively. Find the maximum capacity of tanker which can measure the petrol of either tanker in exact number of times

Given, the capacity of 1st tank =850 liters

And the capacity of 2nd tank= 680 liters

Now, the maximum capacity of a container which can measure the kerosene oil of both the

tankers when used an exact no.of times = HCF of 850 and 680

850 = 2 * 5 * 5  * 17

680 = 2 * 2 * 2 * 5 * 17

HCF(850, 680) = 2 * 5 * 17 = 170

Hence, the container which can measure petrol of either tank exactly must be of 170

liters.
