Man is the eye of the landscape because man is the center of life. The entire creation plan is incomplete without him. Man plays the key role in linking heaven and earth; he is the channel of communication between both the worlds. As human body is incomplete without the eye, so the entire creation is incomplete without man. Hence, he is ‘the eye of the landscape’.
According to Chinese philosophy Shanshui, which means ‘mountain water’. The mountain represents ‘Yang’, the male principle; and water signifies Yin, the female principle. There is also a third element, the Middle Void, in which the interaction between Yin and Yang takes place.
