Explanation:
Using robin method cyclic method, the number of matches is given as:
μ = N(N - 1)/2
Where,
N = Number of teams
From question, the number of teams is 9.
On substituting the values, we get,
μ = 9(9 - 1)/2
μ = (9 × 8)/2
μ = 72/2
∴ μ = 36 matches
