Curd and sour substances are all acidic and Copper &Brass are the most reactive metals. When these substances are kept in contact with reactive metals , they highly react with these metals . This result in the change of taste of sour substances and these metals gets corrode.

Copper is a metal which can react with an acid to form metal oxides, the same goes for brass too since it is an alloy of copper and zinc, and since curd contains lactic acid it can react with the metal in copper and brass and can make metal oxide hence that can cause food poisoning.... Similarly since sourness is a property in acids they can also cause food poisoning if kept in any metal container for a very long time.

Curd and sour substances contain acids. Acids react with metals to produce salt and hydrogen gas. So, if such substances are kept in copper container, the acid will react and the container will be corroded.
