The infra red rays reelected by earth surface inside the greenhouse are not allowed to escape due to the glass walls Thus, air inside the green house becomes warmer. In a similar manner, atmosphere acts like a green house wall for earth. The gases such as co2, methane, ozone, etc. Are green house gases. These allow sun's rays to enter the earth's atmosphere and reach earth surface. But they prevent the reflected infra red rays from escaping the earth. This is called green house effect....

Global warming refers to the increasing temperature of the Earth’s climate system and its related effects.
