Here's your answer.... x+y=14 Let this equation be equation 1 x-y=4 Let this equation be equation 2. Solve equation 1 and 2 You can either add or subtract the equations. Let us subtract the equation... x+y=14 x-y=4 _______ 2y=10 y=10/2 Y=5 Substitute y=5 in equation 1 x+y=14 x+5=14 x=14-5 x=9 So, x=9 and y =5
