Vande Mataram flag designed in 1905 and Azad Hind flag hoisted by Indian National Army were a symbol of unity amongst Indians of different castes, religions, languages etc.

Gandhiji's 3 monkeys symbolised purity in speech, sight and listening. Salt became a symbol of his persistence during the Dandi yatra."
