E= IR E( electro motive Force)=V(Voltage). May be replaced as per Demand in Question I hope it would help you more..........
Emf of cell is defined as when the circuit is open then the potential difference of two end is called emf .or when the current is not flow in the circuit is called emf. Emf give the accurate value of potential difference of battery in volt.
