Authority refers to the right of an individual to command his subordinates and to take action within the scope of his position . Under this the manager has given his work (not power) to his subordinates. Whereas in accountability stands answerability for the final outcome that is the one who is superior is accountable for result he cannot shift it on someone else's shoulder .
