The sumbof numerator and denominator of a fraction is 3 less than twice the denominator. If the numerator and denominator are decreased by 1 then numerator becomes half of the denominator. Find the fraction.

Let, the fraction be x/y . A/Q, x+y=2y-3 | (x-1)=(y-1)/2 or, x=y-3 ----(i)| (y-4)=(y-1)/2 | 2y-8=y-1 | y= 7 Substituting value of y in equation (i) x=4 Therefore, the fraction is 4/7.
