Sorry, the above answer is wrong. The line should be divided in the ratio 1:2 . The formula is the same. The answer should be (0,1).

As the line segment is trisected, therefore, it is divided in the ratio 1:3. Following the section formula --- {1(-6)+3*3} /1+3 , {1*5+3(-1)}/1+3. are the points of trisection. Therefore, the points of trisection are : (3/4 , 1/2)
