A sphincter is a circular band of voluntary or involuntary muscle that encircles an orifice of the body or one of its hollow organs. Gastric sphincter is present at the junction of the small intestines and the stomach.

It acts as a valve and controls the amount of food that is being transferred.

The **** sphincter is responsible for the removal of the food.

**** sphincter is of two types, internal sphincter and external sphincter.
