Article 14 of the Constitution of India provides for equality before the law or equal protection of the laws within the territory of India. It states: "The State shall not deny to any person equality before the law or the equal protection of the laws within the territory of India." Some constitutional measures that have been taken to bring equality in the Indian society are:
(i) Many legal provisions including taxation and acts related with wages to bring equality in income etc.
(ii) Many schemes like pension and other schemes to bring equality in certain profession like farmers, workers etc.
