Write a short note on asexual reproduction in plants
  • 1 answers

Swathi Gajavelli 5 years, 3 months ago

In plants, new offsprings are produced by asexual reproduction. Stamen is the male reproductive part of the plant and pistil is the female reproductive part of the plant. Pistil is made up of three parts - stigma, style and ovary. Stamen contains pollen grains (male germ cells), which are yellow in colour and ovary contains ovule and each ovule has an egg cell (female germ cell). Pollens are transferred to stigma either by air, water or insects. Then, they reach to ovary through style. In ovary, fusion of pollens and egg cell take place and zygote is produced.
