- Low peak bone mass
- Low levels of testosterone and estrogen in men and women
- Imbalanced hormones
- Hyperthyroidism and other thyroid problems
- Kidney diseases, anorexia
- Surgical treatment on ovaries for its removal
- Low calcium diet
- Lack of Vitamin D
