Acid to be added to water with constant stirring. If water added to acid, then the esoteric process taking place would be dangerous and the contents of the beaker, which will be mainly acid, would splash out which may cause injuries or the beaker might also break anc explode

Acid should be dilluted by, adding acid into water with stirring slowly . So that it would not produce that much heat .
