Protein energy malnutrition is caused by inadequate intake of macronutrients (energy and protein) children are at greatest risk adults especially the elderly, individuals having disease like TB ,AIDS . It is assessed that by evaluating the anthropometric measurements (weight, height, head ,and chest) circumference at sector. deficiency of energy is marasmus. deficiency of protein is kwashiorkor.
