1 ) Metals with Water:

Equation :- Metal ( M ) + H₂O => MOH

Product Formed is Metal Hydroxide

2 ) Metals with Air or Oxygen:

Equation:- M + O₂ => MO₂

Product formed is Metal Oxides. They are generally basic in nature.

Oxides are of two types, Acidic Oxides and Basic Oxides.

Acidic Oxides give rise to acids when the oxides are mixed in water. Generally Non metals produce Acidic Oxides.

Basic Oxides on the other hand produce Bases when Basic Oxides are mixed with water. Generally Metals give Basic Oxides.

3 ) Metals with Acid:

Equation :- M + H⁺ ( from acid ) => Metal Salt + H₂
