When the sum of two angles is 180°, then the angles are known as supplementary angles. In other words, if two angles add up to form a straight angle, then those angles are referred to as supplementary angles. These two angles form a linear angle, where if one angle is x, then the other the angle is 180 – x.

Supplementary when they add up to 180 degrees. They don't have to be next to each other, just so long as the total is 180 degrees. Examples: • 60° and 120° are supplementary angles. • 93° and 87° are supplementary angles.
